Fort Campbell soldiers Sgt. Maisen Temple and Sgt. Jacob Paz recently received citizen commendation certificates from Clarksville Police Chief Ty Burdine for restraining an armed suspect. The Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake in Aurora is set to have lane restrictions starting at 8 a.m. on July 14 for a bridge inspection. During the lane restrictions, KYTC crews will use an under-bridge inspection vehicle and climbers to complete the inspection. The cabinet advises that motorists should be alert for signs in the area noting the lane restrictions. The inspection is set to be completed at 3p.m. on July 17, weather permitting.

The U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge remains closed this week as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet looks to address needed repairs. According to a news release, the bridge connecting Wickliffe, Kentucky and Cairo, Illinois was closed on Monday for a special inspection after a motorist identified something concerning on the bridge deck. That inspection was completed late Monday, where early findings indicate that a repair is required on the approach on the Kentucky side of the bridge.
