ETTG Ethical Advertising Guidelines

1. Community-First Approach

  • • Ads must serve the local community and align with ETTG's mission of supporting transparent journalism
  • • Priority given to local businesses, civic organizations, and community services

2. Content Standards

  • • No misleading, deceptive, or false advertising claims
  • • No adult content, gambling, or harmful products/services
  • • No political campaign ads or partisan content
  • • Professional, family-friendly imagery and messaging

3. Geographic Relevance

  • • All ads must target specific geographic locations
  • • Advertisers should have genuine connection to targeted communities
  • • No site-wide or untargeted advertising allowed

4. Transparency Requirements

  • • All ads clearly labeled as "Sponsored" content
  • • Advertiser information must be accurate and verifiable
  • • No disguised advertising or native content without disclosure

5. User Experience

  • • Ads must not interfere with site functionality or user experience
  • • No auto-playing audio, pop-ups, or intrusive formats
  • • Respectful of user privacy and browsing experience

6. Review Process

  • • All ads subject to editorial review before activation
  • • ETTG reserves right to reject ads that don't align with guidelines
  • • Ongoing monitoring to ensure continued compliance
