Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
The ETTG Foundation is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to guarantee we provide equal access to all users.
Conformance Status
ETTG is actively working toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA conformance. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. Known limitations are listed below.
Measures We Take
ETTG takes the following measures to support accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements and ARIA attributes to ensure assistive technologies can accurately interpret our content.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, including a "Skip to Main Content" link on every page. The interactive US state map supports full keyboard navigation — Tab to focus states and press Enter or Space to navigate.
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA standards in both light and dark modes.
- Responsive Design: Our site adapts to different screen sizes and supports text resizing without loss of content or functionality.
- Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alternative text where appropriate.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements.
- Dark Mode: A system-respecting dark mode is provided to reduce eye strain and improve readability for users who prefer reduced brightness.
- Reduced Motion: Animations and transitions are disabled for users who have enabled the "Reduce Motion" preference in their operating system.
- Privacy-Respecting Analytics: Our self-hosted analytics honor the Do Not Track (DNT) browser setting, with no tracking cookies or cross-site profiling.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of ETTG. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know:

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback as soon as possible.
Compatibility
ETTG is designed to be compatible with:
- Recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
- Operating system accessibility features (zoom, high contrast, reduced motion)
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations as we continue to improve:
- Third-Party Content: External news source websites linked from our directory may not meet the same accessibility standards.
- User-Submitted Content: Advertiser-submitted content may not always include adequate alternative text or meet contrast requirements. We review submissions for compliance.
- Dynamic Tab Selection: The content tabs on state pages communicate their initial selected state to assistive technologies; dynamic updates on tab switch require JavaScript to be enabled.
