Travelers prepare for delays due to a new TXDot road pattern. An eastbound Loop 1604 entrance ramp after the I-10 interchange was permanently shut down yesterday. According to TXDot the closure will affect travelers on their way past the Rim. Crews are performing a ramp reconfiguration at the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange. Six Flags properties Fiesta Texas and Schlitterbahn have a new recognizable Brand Ambassador. According to the San Antonio Business Journal, Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs football player has signed a deal with Six Flags to not only be a brand partner but also a marketing partner for its park portfolio. Look for Kelce’s image across a variety of channels, including broadcast media. In a statement Kelce, said that part of his role will be to “introduce a new generation of fans to Six Flags.

Another memorial for the 119 who perished in last July’s floods is now at the Kerrville RV Resort and Cabins on Texas 173. A flood memorial was dedicated with all names painted on a brick and placed at the foot of a cross. At night, the cross is lit up with a green spotlight.

Kerrville Independent School District Superintendent Brent Ringo spoke in Washington DC. on Friday at an America 250 celebration event. The superintendent was invited by the Washington National Cathedral and the MacArthur Foundation. Ringo honored the Kerrville ISD team members who risked their lives during the tragic July 4, 2025 flooding, including the bus drivers and staff who safely transported more than 900 campers out of Hunt and Ingram.

Friday morning a crowd attended the dedication of the Hill Country Flood Memorial Wall at the Coming King Sculpture Garden in Kerrville. Governor Greg Abbott marked the 1 year anniversary of the deadly Kerr County flood of July 2025 in Kerrville. Abbott was the special guest at Saturday’s Symphony of the Hills concert. Boerne-Champion High School student welders honored by members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet. According to the Boerne-Star, images of a unique dipping vat that help ranchers fight the New World screwworm led to the national recognition. The vat is called T-REX for its size and resemblance to the dinosaur.
