The Monroe Police are investigating after shots were fired into a Monroe residence near Waxhaw Highway.

Police are searching for a suspect who they say ran from officers when they tried to serve a narcotics warrant. 

Residents in the Hillcrest neighborhood are urged to lock their doors and avoid going outside until the suspect is captured.
