Middle school is a pivotal time for students, and Roseboro-Salemburg Middle staff are ensuring none of their youngsters fall through the cracks by offering what they called a new house system, with eighth and seventh grade houses sorted and sixth to come this Friday.

For nearly four years, Roseboro residents have known what it is like to live in a town without something many communities take for granted — a bank.

KS Bank officials made it official Monday, announcing plans to open its first Sampson County financial center at 201 E. Roseboro St. in downtown Roseboro. The branch is expected to open in November, and will bring local, in-person banking back to a community that has been without a bank for nearly four years.

The Roseboro Public Library welcomed several senior citizens Monday who were there to get help with their phones, as N.C. Cooperative Extension staff work to provide technology education through twice-monthly digital literacy drop-in clinics at Sampson County libraries.
