PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Township Fire Department is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its reestablishment and it will host an open house on Sept. 1, from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the fire station located at 24335 U.S. 23-S in Presque Isle. All members of the public are invited to attend.

Roger's City residents and visitors gathered to honor the 33 lives that were lost in the sinking of the Carl D. Bradley shipwreck that happened nearly 68 years ago. The Sundew, a Minnesota-based Coast Guard vessel, rescued the only two survivors of the shipwreck. Last week, the Sundew visited Rogers City for the first time since the shipwreck.
