Kent County will celebrate America/Delaware 250 on Tuesday. At 4pm there will be a ceremonial planting of the Liberty Tree at the Kent County Veterans Memorial Park. This is a living descendant of the original Maryland Liberty Tree that stood for over 400 years on the campus of St. John's college in Annapolis. The tree and a commemorative plaque were donated by the Freemasons of Delaware. Three Liberty Tree plantings being held – one in each county with Kent County the last to be planted.

A pursuit a week ago in Kent County has resulted in the arrest of a Marydel, Maryland, man on charges of reckless endangering and felony gun offenses. Just before 7pm on June 5th, Delaware State Police observed a Mitsubishi with a registration violation and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped off.
