An individual being transferred to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement holding facility escaped from a moving vehicle Sunday in Burns Harbor. Indiana State Police say an ICE officer was transporting the individual westbound on I-94 near Exit 22 when the suspect broke free from his restraints and jumped from the vehicle. The suspect ran north across the highway and into a wooded area. Indiana State Police and local officers searched for several hours before spotting the suspect near a marsh.
