Officials said two people were seriously injured after crashing a motorcycle in East Hampton. The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Gulf Road and Colchester Avenue (Route 16), According to officials, the crash happened between a motorcycle and a dump truck. When first responders got to the scene, they found two people on the motorcycle with serious injuries. Due to the extent of their injuries, they were taken to Hartford Hospital via Life Star

East Hampton police responded to the crash around 4:21 p.m. near the intersection of Gulf Road and Colchester Avenue. Two LIFE STAR crews flew to the scene.

​Route 16 is closed in both directions at Bridge Street due to the collision, the state Department of Transportation said at 4:55 p.m.
