A West Haven man turned himself in on an active warrant, charging him in connection with a fatal crash in Somers in 2025. The crash happened on Nov. 7 near Main Street and Sunset Drive. State police with Troop C were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. on the report of a crash. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 25 minutes, according to the fire chief of the West Haven Fire Department in Allingtown.

An unconscious elderly woman was rescued from a burning home in West Haven early Saturday morning and fire officials said she and an elderly man were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
