A family has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer and retailer of a kratom product they believe caused the death of a 55-year-old Menifee mother.

Menifee police are searching for the driver of a white vehicle allegedly involved in a crash that killed a teenager riding an electric motocross-style motorcycle, authorities said Thursday. Officers responded Wednesday to Briggs Road and Gabriel Road at approximately 8:19 p.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious pedestrian on the roadway with a severe head injury, according to the Menifee Police Department. Upon arrival, they found a teenager on the roadway with injuries.
