Claremont High’s varsity football team kicked off its season August 21 with a 28-13 loss at Valley View in Moreno Valley. The Wolfpack ended the first quarter in front, 7-6, but were then outscored, 22-6. The team’s first home game of the season is 7 p.m. Friday, August 28 versus Diamond Bar, who are 1-0 after easily handling Grand Terrace last week, 28-6. Overnight closures of the westbound 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar will begin Saturday, according to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments. All lanes on the westbound freeway will be fully closed between Lemon Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard.     With the recent completion of closures on the eastbound 60, focus now shifts to the westbound side, with weekend closures scheduled through the balance of August and into September, officials said.  &nbs
