9/4 Camp Verde says work will begin on the Verde Lakes Drive Sidewalk Improvements project Tuesday. Crews will be working on sidewalk and curb improvements along the west side of Verde Lakes Drive, between Highway-260 and Catclaw Drive. Construction is expected to last about 4-months. Traffic delays, temporary lane closures and parking restrictions should be expected for the duration of the project.

9/3 The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office arrested 2-people in connection with a fraud case at the Tractor Supply Store. In early August, a male and female suspect used a stolen identity to gain an account at the store at which time they purchased a $4,200 Toro zero-turn mower. They then rented a trailer to haul it away; the rented trailer was never returned. Parking lot surveillance footage led detectives to 36-year-old Christerful Bryant Jr. and 30-year-old Fatuma Salim, both of Phoenix. Both were
8/14 The Camp Verde Marshals Office was involved in a pursuit early Thursday morning with 22-year-old John Sanchez. A deputy stopped Sanchez on I-17 near Highway-260, at around midnight. When the deputy deployed a K9, Sanchez sped off. A female passenger in the vehicle began calling 911, telling deputies that Sanchez would not let her out of the vehicle; it was believed she had been kidnapped. 8/13 Flooding forced Camp Verde to close the Sports Complex and Equestrian Center late Wednesday. The town will check the area for damages today to see if the parks can be reopened. The town also announced that Verde Lakes Community Park is once again open now that staff has cleared debris from a previous storm.
