10/20 Kaibab National Forest is burning the green waste pit on Forest Road 900 in the Pittman Valley area today. Smoke will be heaviest during ignitions and then taper off. Smoke will be visible until the fire burns itself out or is put out by rain.

10/15 Kaibab National Forest is planning to conduct 2-pile burns today. Crews hope to burn 1,650-acres of piles near Williams and another 236 near Tusayan. Both burns should be completed by the end of the day today.

10/9 Ignitions were completed Thursday on several burn projects on the Kaibab National Forest and additional burning is expected today.Crews ignited 2-thousand acres near Pumpkin Center and just under 2-thousand acres around Bill Williams Mountain. Smoke will be visible for several more days.

10/8 Kaibab National Forest fire managers plan to ignite prescribed burns today. Crews plan to burn a total of 3,200-acres in and around Pumpkin Center and the Kendrick Mountain Wilderness as well as south of Bill Williams Mountain and Perkinsville Road. Some areas may close to the public during the burns.
